Buenos Aires day 2

Today we explored the rest of Buenos Aires. It was hot, Andy was dying. I carried the backpack so Andy wouldn't get his normal strap lines (see Istanbul pictures). We started the day at an outdoor flea market that went for close to 10 blocks in the neighborhood of San Telmo. This market happens every Sunday and was full of locals and tourists. We have seen few, if any, Americans. It is very different than Europe. At the end of the market it opened up to a square where we saw traditional Tango dancers. From San Telmo we caught a bus to another neighborhood called La Boca. While the area that we went to was very touristy, the route to get there went through a pretty tough area. There were police on every corner, and we were warned by our hostel to not stray far from la Caminito (the main tourist street). La Boca had tourist shops, and some brightly painted buildings. The last area of the city that we explored today was Palermo, we took the subte (subway) there, and wandered around for a little while before getting dinner at a local restaurant. Palermo was a nicer area of the city, had more upscale shops, and was less run down. After two days of exploring, we are done with the city. Tomorrow we have two flights to get us down to southern Chile.
