We arrived in Turkey without an issue... Besides getting a flat tire while still in West Hartford less than a hundred yards from my house (panic mode set in quickly), and getting very little sleep on the nine hour flight. The city has a very different feel than the rest of Europe, and we enjoyed our first Turkish cuisine at a nice hole in the wall run by a man and his wife.
We managed to visit Topkapi Sarayi - a palace that was central to the Ottoman Empire. We explore around our hostel before calling it a day. Tomorrow we plan on checking out the major sites starting at an early hour.
